Residual Current Monitoring

The solution to monitor earthed networks (TN and TT systems) for residual currents is a residual current monitoring device. The residual current monitoring device measures the sum of the currents in all conductors - except for the protective conductor (PE) - with the help of a measuring current transformer (zero current transformers).

Residual current monitoring devices (abbreviation RCM, Residual Current Monitor) are used to give the user an early message before the switch-off threshold of an RCD is reached. Residual current monitoring devices detect rising residual currents early and safely.
